  • Founded in 1152 by Bernard of Clairvaux in the countryside, the Clairmont Abbey or Clermont Abbey in a very pure Cistercian model of architecture.

    From the twelfth to the fifteenth century, the Abbey of Clairmont receives the burials of the lords of Laval. It retains a large part of its original buildings, classified as Historic Monuments: the abbey church with impressive dimensions, the cellar and the refectory of the lay brothers, the porterie. Free visit all year. Guided tour for groups by reservation. Open every day of the year, from 9am to dusk. Free visit: Adults € 6; children (10-16 years old) 3 € Guided tour (by reservation), minimum 4 persons: same rates + a 20 € package. Duration approx. 1:30. In July and August, guided tour every Sunday at 18h: 5 € / p.
