Not to be missed: The Gallo-Roman thermal baths in Entrammes

In search of the oldest traces of civilisation in the Pays de Laval: the Gallo-Roman Thermal Baths of Inter-Amnes (Entrammes). Converted into a church at the end of antiquity, they are in a remarkable state of preservation and include 8.5-metre-high Roman walls, a row of four chambers and brick arches and windows. Precious signs of the Paleo-Christian church can also be added to the list. The enchantment of the site and the historical staging of the baths contribute to a surprising discovery.

Parné-sur-Roc, the Petite Cité de Caractère (Small Town of Character)

One of seven “Petites cités de Caractère” in La Mayenne.

Clairmont Abbey, in Saint-Bernard’s footsteps

This abbey was founded in a landscape of woods and ponds by Saint-Bernard in 1152.
Many of the original buildings have been conserved and are classed as Historic Monuments: the abbey church, the storeroom, the gatehouse and the lay brothers’ refectory with its beautiful shale vaults supported by granite columns.
