The Laundry Boat

Since the 1970s, the Saint-Julien and Saint-Yves Laundry-Boats are the only two remaining boats from a fleet of 22 that existed in Laval in 1904. After both boats sank in April 2009, it was decided to analyse the state of the Saint-Julien and plan for its restoration.

Following restoration, the Saint-Julien returned to its mooring at Quai Paul Boudet as a museum with a permanent exhibition. During the visit, you will learn all the stages that were necessary to restore this historic monument and you will also be immersed in the history and daily life of a floating factory.
