Artificial intelligence is making its way onto film sets and into cinemas. It is becoming a tool for creation, experimentation and innovation. From scriptwriting to image generation and assisted editing, technological tools are opening up new possibilities for creators and challenging the way we conceive and consume works of art.
Against this backdrop, Laval Mayenne Technopole is launching the AI Short Film Festival from 7 to 9 March 2026. A unique opportunity to discover the impact of AI on audiovisual creation, while questioning its role in art and cinema.
For three days, the public is invited to discover short films that question the place of artificial intelligence in audiovisual creation.
The screenings will be accompanied by meetings with the directors, as well as discussions on the artistic, creative and ethical issues surrounding the use of AI. The festival will close with an awards ceremony.
Free and open to all, this event offers a cultural approach to artificial intelligence for the general public, at the crossroads of cinema and new technologies.
The AI Short Film Festival is co-organised by Laval Mayenne Technopole and l'Avant-Scène, with the support of Atmosphères 53 and the Département de la Mayenne.
Laval Mayenne Technopole is supported by Laval Agglomération and the Pays de la Loire Region.
