Archivists Elise Druart and Lylie Trouillard will show you how to use the public and private archives held in Mayenne to write the history of women.
"Do women have a history? This was the title of the first lecture given by historians Michelle Perrot, Fabienne Bock and Pauline Schmitt to students at the University of Paris VII in 1973. But if their presence in archival documents is not easily perceptible, are women totally absent from public archive repositories? By taking a roundabout route and returning to primary sources, archivists will help you discover the possibilities offered by public and private archives in Mayenne for writing the history of women.
