The Festival du Chainon Manquant is a journey to the heart of Laval’s emerging artistic scene. Every September, Laval Agglomeration hosts a daring programme of music, dance, theatre, circus and street arts. Over the course of a few days, enjoy vibrant performances in a festive atmosphere, where young creators transform the city into a unique artistic crossroads. Experience the magic of this festival, which reinvents each venue with emotion and energy.

The Chainon manquant made its grand return from September 16 to 21, 2025, to the delight of enthusiasts!

300 volunteers, 16,500 spectators in the halls and on the streets, and 400 professionals welcomed—everyone was there for this 34th edition. An unmissable event, where culture, discoveries, and moments of conviviality combined to create a unique experience.

Prologue du Chainon

Alongside the Festival du Chainon Manquant, Laval Tourisme and the Chainon network are joining forces to offer the “Prologue du Chainon Manquant”. The Prologue is a unique opportunity to (re)discover the festival’s iconic shows across the whole of Laval Agglomération and the surrounding area – a real taste of what’s to come!

With Laval Tourisme’s Prologue Pass, immerse yourself in the world of the Chainon by enjoying most of the Prologue shows. This original concept combines artistic discovery and local heritage over two days for an unforgettable immersive experience.
