As part of the European Heritage Days, take part in a creative workshop at Le Quarante
During his artistic residency in the Hilard district in 2025/2026, Guillaume Thireau, a visual artist from Mayenne, is organising a first creative event for the general public around his "Metamorphoses" project during the European Heritage Days.
Accompanied by the Laval Agglo Micro-Folie, he is inviting local residents to make an ex-voto, a memorial object, by tracing a design on an earthenware tile. Each tile they make will become part of a series of poetic markers, a series of sculptures installed in 2026 to mark out a sensitive route around the Quarante. For this first workshop, and to mark the centenary of Art Deco, the artist and Micro-Folie will be inviting participants to pick out shapes, motifs and details from works in the Quarante and the digital museum collections that are emblematic of the building's artistic movement.
