
By recreating the conviviality of popular cafés through dance, the C'hoari company is rekindling the flame of these places of life.
After drawing on the spirit of the fest-noz in their first choreographic work, Tsef Zon(e), Nolwenn Ferry and Pauline Sonnic have chosen to explore another stage of social interaction, perhaps even its beating heart: popular bars. Travelling for several weeks through the bars and taverns of Brittany, they collected moments, gestures and atmospheres.
The result is a two-person ballet radiating a sunny complicity, borrowing its language from both contemporary dance and traditional Breton and Irish music. Their bodies re-enact the intimacy of bistros, the warmth of living together, but also the singular expression of solitude and individuality. Intoxicating!
