As part of the Spanish Season, Julien Martineau and Philippe Mouratoglou are inviting Spanish guitarist Jimena Pastor Marazuela to give a special concert at Le Quarante.
Jimena Pastor Marazuela : Born in Segovia, Jimena Pastor Marazuela began playing guitar at the local conservatoire. She studied classical guitar with Benoît Albert at the Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and took masterclasses with Leo Brouwer, Zoran Dukic, Pedro Mateo González and Marco Smaili. With a passion for film music, she obtained a master's degree in music research at the Université de Montréal. She also studied baroque guitar with Jordi Gironès and orchestral conducting with Jean-Guy Olive, Paolo Bellomia and Fernando Bustamante, completing a master's degree at UNIR.

An international concert artist, she now conducts the Cuerda Para Rato plectrum orchestra. Julien Martineau: Julien Martineau is one of the few mandolinists to play with the world's leading symphony orchestras. At the age of 19, he won the Giuseppe Anedda prize at the Varazze international competition. A soloist at the Victoires de la musique classique awards, he made his debut with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, recording Vivaldi and Calace (Naïve). Appointed Honorary Director of the Classical Mandolin Society of America in 2021, he will chair the jury of the Tokyo International Mandolin Competition in 2022.

He performs with major ensembles, and has just released a new album with the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse and La Mandoline de Lviv with Julie Depardieu. Philippe Mouratoglou: Trained by Wim Hoogewerf, Roland Dyens and Pablo Marquez, whom he assisted at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, Philippe Mouratoglou plays a variety of acoustic guitars: classical, 6- or 12-string folk, and baritone. He is also a performer and improviser. Since 2009, he has worked with Ariane Wohlhuter, Pedro Soler, Henri Demarquette and many others. He has performed at the Berlin Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, La Chaise-Dieu, Les Flâneries de Reims, Le Printemps musical du Pacifique and in many other countries. His discography has won several awards, including a 'Choc de l'année' from Jazz Magazine.
