Set course for the Iberian Peninsula! Laval is inaugurating a new 'country season' dedicated to Spain, with a colourful programme combining music, cinema, lectures and literature.
The event kicks off on Tuesday 4 November at 8pm at Cinéville, with the screening of the feature film Los Tigres. This event marks the launch of Spanish Film Week, which runs until 11 November, with emblematic films such as Un Amor, Sirat, La Pielque habito and the documentary Andalusia, Song of the South. Screenings, debates and presentations will punctuate this first stage of a month and a half of cultural exchanges.

Among the highlights: Spanish Fridays in the bars, with tapas and Iberian music, until 5 December; an exceptional classical concert featuring Julien Martineau (mandolin), Philippe Mouratoglou and Jimena Pastor (guitars), on Friday 14 November at 8pm at Le Quarante - tickets only available from Fnac. The Albert-Legendre library will be offering events focusing on Spanish literature, while the Maison de l'Europe will be hosting a conference on "Spain and Portugal before and since joining the European Union", on Friday 19 December at 7pm in Bâtiment 13, Ferrié district.

Finally, the twin town of Gandia will be in the spotlight at the Christmas market, from 10 to 14 December in Boston Square, with stalls and specialities straight from the Valencian coast.
