Planning error! Two guides have come to give you the tour… and the worst thing is, they’re not really telling you the same thing. The two thieves contradict each other, shout at each other and take you to task…
For each story they tell you, try to guess which one is telling the truth, and sort out the true from the false…

Laval is home to a number of religious buildings, reflecting the strong devotion of the local population:
– the Romanesque-style chapel of Pritz, with its 13th-century murals
– the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, a veritable conservatory of sacred art
– l’église des Cordeliers and its remarkable string of altarpieces, testimony to the skills of the Laval restorers and the Corbineau school
– Saint-Vénérand church, a Renaissance masterpiece, and much more…

This jewel of Art Deco architecture was awarded the “Patrimoine 20e siècle” label in 2011.
A mosaic decor by Isidore Odorico and a stained glass window by Auguste Alleaume give the place a precious appearance.
The mosaics feature the same delicate motif for each cabin, inspired by Viennese art, and play on contrasts between blue and yellow, vertical and horizontal lines…

Guided tour of the museum
Step back in time to the 1950s to discover the former Laval dairy, still imbued with the know-how of those who came before us. Continue your journey through our collection of objects dedicated to the dairy world. You’ll then share in the adventure of Groupe Lactalis, a family business that has witnessed and played an active role in the evolution of the dairy industry. Finally, a cheese tasting and a visit to the boutique.

One of Mayenne’s seven “Petites cités de caractère”. You’ll discover this village with its bucolic charm, its medieval bridge spanning the Ouette river, its picturesque houses, its Romanesque church with its 12th-century bell tower and its impressive lime kilns, evidence of a very important industrial activity over the last few centuries.

This is the only water mill open to visitors in Mayenne.
Classified as a Historic Monument, its current 30-ton mechanism, unique in western France, dates from 1850 and operates on 4 levels. An interesting insight into the know-how of the millers.
