The Ofnijec (Unidentified Floating Objects) will be back on the Mayenne on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026. Organised in Laval, this original raft race has established itself over the years as a popular summer event.
The event is organised by the Jeune Chambre Économique de Laval, which each year mobilises teams from local businesses and associations. They design and build their own boats, in a variety of shapes and colours, before putting them to the test on the Mayenne.
The theme for the 2026 event is time travel. After the cartoon theme of 2025, participants will once again have to use their imagination to come up with rafts that tie in with this theme.
Beyond the competition, the Ofnijec is above all a festive highlight at the start of summer in Laval. The public is expected to flock to the riverbanks to see the teams' creations and enjoy the entertainment on offer throughout the weekend.
