Description

Organ Spring 2026
Le Printemps de l'orgue 2026 at Laval Cathedral : on 18 and 19 June at 8.30pm, two organ recitals and a performance by the choir. The organ at Laval Cathedral was built in 1852 by the famous organ builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll and installed in 1853, and next year will mark its 175th anniversary. The Apoclem invites you to the 2026 Spring Festival. It kicks off on Thursday 18 June at 8.30pm with German organist Bernhard Marx offering a varied programme of works by JS Bach, CM Widor, C Franck and others. The Lumen Dei choir will plunge us into the heart of the sacred music repertoire. On 19 June, Peter Van de Velde, organist at Antwerp Cathedral (Belgium), will perform virtuoso pieces from the symphonic repertoire. This is an international festival. The concerts will be broadcast on a giant screen in the nave, with opening acts performed by students from the Laval Agglomération conservatoire. Free admission
