As part of the ‘Industrielle Attitude’ initiative, visit the Mayenne Departmental Archives
Take a look behind the scenes at the Departmental Archives, which hold nearly 23 kilometres of documents on the history of Mayenne, the oldest of which date back to the 11th century.
Around twenty staff members work day in, day out to collect, catalogue, preserve, digitise, share and promote these archives, so that as many people as possible can discover them and so that they can be passed on to future generations.
!! PRACTICAL INFORMATION !!
• From Friday 2nd to Friday 9th October 2026, tours are reserved for jobseekers, trainees and secondary school pupils
• From Monday 12th to Friday 30th October: tours for the general public
Prices:
> 1 tour: €6 per person /
> 4 or more different tours: €5 per tour per person
> Tours are not permitted for those under 15 years of age
Booking is compulsory from 11 September! Online or at the Laval Tourisme reception.
No tickets available on site on tour days
Recommendations:
Please arrive on time for your tour; you are expected
Please follow the safety and hygiene guidelines provided. If you fail to comply, you will be refused entry to the tour
Do not smoke during the tours
Ask for permission before filming or taking photographs
Wear flat, closed-toe shoes for all tours
