To mark European Heritage Days, the Mayenne Departmental Archives are opening their doors to give you the chance to discover the roles and responsibilities that help to preserve Mayenne’s written heritage.
The Mayenne Genealogical Society is offering a demonstration on how to use the website, including how to access digitised archives and create a family tree to get your research started.
Also available on site:
- An immersive guided tour of the Archives. Tours run continuously throughout the afternoon until 5.45 pm. Wander freely through the Archives’ work and storage areas to meet the professionals who work on collecting, cataloguing, preserving and making the archives accessible.
- Discover the exhibition “Imagine ta Mayenne: different perspectives on the landscape”. Four classes, from primary school to sixth form, have embarked on a documentary, critical and artistic project to explore the changing landscape around their schools and share their vision through photography.
