Description

Château de la Lanfrière in Montjean is a 19th-century dwelling with a formal garden and English parkland.
Built around 1840 by Mr Morin Blottais, an industrialist from Laval and a direct descendant of the current owners, this dwelling comprises : - a south facade with a very regular tufa-based design. With its 3 heads representing the owner and his family and 4 corner turrets, - a north facade, in the middle of which, on the 1st floor, you can see the back of the chapel in pure troubadour style, - a wooden grand staircase In front of the dwelling : - a French garden bordered by a balustrade dating from the construction of the house and a charming green room, - a large English park (15 ha) with many remarkable trees, - a perfectly homogeneous group of service buildings with 2 large main buildings and, above all, a Chinese dovecote. Visits by appointment include the entire exterior, the main entrance and the chapel. The Château is open to visitors on "Rendez-vous aux Jardins" days and on Heritage Days, without booking.
