Hear ye, hear ye, folk from near and far!
On Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026, Clairmont Abbey invites you on a grand journey to the heart of the Middle Ages. For one weekend, nearly 900 years of history will come to life amongst the ancient stones of the abbey.
As you wander the paths, discover a medieval civilian and military encampment, meet craftsmen, artists and traders, and admire the skills of days gone by: woodworking, metalwork, leatherwork, stained glass, weaving, pottery and many other wonders.
Combat, medieval fencing, archery, knife- and axe-throwing demonstrations, games, dances and a host of festivities will punctuate these two days. The youngest visitors will certainly not be forgotten: specially adapted areas and activities will allow them, too, to be part of the adventure.
Between exploring the various attractions, visitors can stop off at the tavern or the food vans to recharge their batteries and enjoy a feast in a friendly atmosphere.
Whether you’re a history buff, a craft enthusiast or simply looking for a lovely family day out, come and experience a weekend like no other, designed to delight young and old alike!
Saturday 29 August: from 2 pm to 9 pm
Sunday 30 August: from 11 am to 6 pm
And if you feel so inclined, don your finest medieval attire to fully immerse yourself in the festivities!
