Le Plein d'Aventure ! - Trail

An adventure accessible to all, starting in Laval and the Avesnières district... where your shoes won't see much tarmac despite the city!
Head for the Saint Nicolas adventure playground and the Gamats wood!
From the Avesnières lock (with its toilets, water point and shops), head due south. As soon as you cross the bridge, turn right and cross the Mayenne. This is the only straight stretch of the route with traffic! As soon as you reach the crossroads with the route de Tours, take the little path opposite that runs alongside the Saint Nicolas... the adventure begins here!
Without realising it, you'll be heading deeper into the neighbourhood, sometimes at the foot of the allotment gardens, sometimes on the banks of the St Nicolas... and into the plain, of course!

Near the chemin des Faluères, you'll branch off towards the Plaine d'aventure (future urban farm). Walk down the sunken path, which is sometimes damp, then turn left and walk around the pond. From here, continue onto the plain through the meadows. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the location: the countryside in the city! At certain times of day, be discreet and attentive - wildlife also lives here!
After circling the field, you'll discover a new path: join the small wood and thread your way across the stream... in nature and discovery mode (there's no bridge here).
From here, take a path that will lead you to the local football pitches and take you around the Palindrome (sports hall, media library, toilets);

Back to civilisation as you cross the boulevard to the Thévalles district.
Through the green areas between the pavilions and then the surprising Vallon de la Chevalerie, you'll be taken to the foot of Bois Gamats and the farm housing donkeys and Angora goats!
A short tour of the valley along an undergrowth path, then through the peat bog, will take you by surprise before you climb up to the Ferme du Bois (be discreet and careful as you cross the farm, as you may come across children, goats and very welcoming hosts)!

After a short climb, you'll be treated to a superb view of Laval (at sunset, it's a must!). Then, you'll head into the woods to walk around them and observe the flora and fauna - you're in for a treat!

Return to Laval via the path along the banks of the Mayenne, which is both bucolic and technical!
One last effort in the Thévalles woods: a beautiful climb and a very challenging path await you! Watch out for the descent before the Mayenne ;)

There are just a few hundred metres to go before you return to urban life...
