"The route along the Erve valley is a veritable mill route. In Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve, which has been awarded the "Petite Cité de Caractère" label, our Gô mill is the only one to have preserved its equipment: wheels, mechanism, gears, etc. So it's important to safeguard it and publicise it. It operated until 1964 to produce animal flour. Built in the 17th century on the remains of a medieval mill, it enjoyed its golden age in the 19th century. As we continue to renovate it, we're bringing it back to life so that we can share this heritage, which is the memory of the milling world.
The Mill is open on Sundays in July and August from 2pm to 7pm, so you can find out how the mill works using the explanatory posters and QR codes inside the mill, and you can wander around outside the mill to enjoy the bucolic and very natural atmosphere of the place".
