The Brasserie des Flandres brings a touch of Ch'ti and the plat pays to the local restaurant scene.
For many Lavallois residents and visitors, it's a chance to take a trip around the plate that doesn't involve sushi, pizza, couscous or tapas... but rather dishes from the North.
The tartine aux maroilles, for example. Or the tasty pot'je vleesch (cold pieces of rabbit, chicken, veal and pork in jelly) and the excellent welsh des ch'tis, a dish consisting of a slice of mustard bread, white ham and cheddar cheese, all melted in beer and grilled in the oven.
And, of course, it's all served with a bière du Nord.
