Festival Alimenterre : « Insecticides, comment l'agrochimie a tué les insectes »

ALIMENTERRE Festival 2026 in Mayenne. From 15 October to 30 November, the ALIMENTERRE Festival returns to Mayenne, and in particular to Bonchamp! It is an unmissable event focusing on sustainable and socially responsible food. In Bonchamp, the association Le Court Circuit, a partner of the festival, is organising a film and discussion evening on Thursday 15 October at 8.30 pm at the Pôle associatif, Salle Galbé (suitable for all ages – free admission). The film, ‘Insecticides: How Agrochemicals Killed the Insects’ (1), will be followed by a discussion with Thierry Sabin, an organic farmer in Bonchamp, and Jean-Marc Lalloz, President of the Fédération Environnement 53. At national level, this festival is organised by the CFSI (French Committee for International Solidarity). In Mayenne, it is promoted and coordinated by the CRIDES-Les3Mondes association, which is screening 11 documentary films, hosting a talk and showing animated films for young audiences. This is due to the widespread use of neonicotinoids, insecticides that permeate every cell of the plant. Whilst scientific studies are mounting to highlight the catastrophic consequences of using these neurotoxins, the multinationals that produce them are stepping up their efforts to cover their tracks. Funding of flawed studies, pressure on researchers and research institutes, and intensive lobbying of regulatory authorities – every means is being employed to avoid regulation.
