Le Siffleur et son quatuor – Fred Radix et Well Quartet

A music stand, a conductor’s baton and a tailcoat: at first glance, you might think you’re watching a very serious string concerto. But Fred Radix is no ordinary musician: he’s an exceptional whistler! Determined to share his passion and raise the profile of this little-known art form… Armed with a sense of self-deprecating humour and backed by a string quartet (the marvellous Well Quartet), Fred Radix breaks the mould of classical music and doesn’t hesitate to put the audience to the test. As much a zany compère as he is a virtuoso performer (whistling everything from Mozart to the Beatles, from Schubert to Ennio Morricone), he delivers a show that defies categorisation and is delightfully madcap.
