Description
Telling the story of Molière’s life… in Molière’s own style? Simon Falguières rises to the challenge in a fast-paced play, drawing inspiration from the theatre of the time.
Trestles, a white curtain, on-stage costume changes: to retrace the playwright’s romantic life story, the production draws on the purest traditions of repertory theatre. Just as a certain Jean-Baptiste Poquelin might have done four centuries earlier!
This is one of the great strengths of this fast-paced play, bringing together six talented young performers (who are both actors and musicians): from the script to the set design, it is all done ‘in the style of’. All whilst building bridges with our own era and bearing the hallmark of great, ambitious and popular theatre – fiercely free and modern.
